Best car air fresheners not made in China

Here's a car air freshener brand I came across today called Arotags. It was founded by Michael Milam in a MakerSpace in the Cleveland Public Library, which he turned into an amazing (and brilliant) product.

What's cool is that Milam has promised to always keep manufacturing and sourcing in the United States. That means you're not breathing toxin, chemicals, or other nasties but only non-toxic fragrance oils. It comes in a variety of designs, including every state in the US. His most popular design is this map of the continental USA which comes with a refill kit so you can reuse the same diffuser made from poplar trees grown in the US, instead of buying one disposable paper air freshener after another.

The price is surprisingly low for what's essentially more than a year's worth of air freshening. This is definitely a small business worth supporting.

I should add that if you're a nostalgia nut, there's always the option of Little Trees. This was the company that started it all over 70 years ago in 1952 with their paper-based air fresheners. After all this time they're still made in the New York, Iowa, and Switzerland.

As you can imagine there are tons and tons of imitations produced in China, both from generic China brands as well as American brands like Arm & Hammer that should really know better. Clueless consumers will look at the pretty designs or the cheap prices and grab them up without realizing they're breathing air polluted with the stench of tyranny.

As for you, you can't go wrong with old-school options like Little Trees or brand new innovations like Arotags.
