As the title says, what are the best orthotic slippers not made in China? Every last one I see is a cheap one made there.

You've got a few options:
-
Glerups slippers are designed in Denmark and made in their own factory in Romania. They're not a medical orthotic in the strict sense, but they're known for a comfortable, stable underfoot feel.
-
Dr. Luigi slippers are more along the lines of a true orthopedic slipper. They're made in Croatia.
-
Haflinger slippers are known for their anatomically shaped cork-latex footbed with real arch support. Should be made in Germany, but check the individual model you're buying.
-
Steggmann is another brand known for excellent arch support, and are frequently recommended by podiatrists for plantar fasciitis or fallen arches. They're made in Austria.
Start with those—some of them are on the pricier side, but with foot pain you really want to invest in a proven brand than take a chance with cheap knockoffs.

I love the slippers from the brand Vital, made in Austria.
