Best Sunscreen for Face – Expert Recommendations to Choose Right one

Post by finallen »

I researched about the best sunscreen for face over the past few days because I’ve been spending more time outdoors and want to protect my skin from sun damage without breakouts or irritation. I read reviews on Healthline, Byrdie, Consumer Reports, and dermatologist YouTube channels, and these two are being marked as top picks:
EltaMD UV Clear Face Sunscreen
https://shorturl.at/SqAwF
Supergoop! PLAY Everyday Lotion SPF 50 - Broad Spectrum Body & Face Sunscreen
https://shorturl.at/6iM7i
However, I’m having trouble deciding which one would best suit my skin. I have slightly sensitive, acne-prone skin, and I’m looking for a sunscreen that’s lightweight, non-greasy, won’t clog pores, and ideally made outside of China.
So which one should I go for? Has anyone here used either of these or would recommend another good non-China-made sunscreen for the face?
Any suggestions or personal experience would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

From what I can tell, the EltaMD UV Clear sunscreen is definitely made in the USA. There are a few things I prefer about it that the other one doesn't have: it's fragrance-free, it has niacinamide and lactic acid (helps reduce blemishes and hyperpigmentation), and while reviewers of the other one say that one is tacky, reviewers of this one say it applies fine.

I see from the product Q&A that Supergoop! is also made in the USA, but it makes me nervous that they choose to hide this information. But it also seems to be a pretty good choice.
