Are Ray Bans made in China?
Thought that they were made in the USA, but hearing different things.
Re: Are Ray Bans made in China?
No, definitely no. Ray-Ban brand is owned by Luxxotica in Italy...I think they used to be made in Italy after they bought it from Bausch and Lomb, but they've been moving more and more production to China.
Even worse, there's a huge counterfeit market from companies in China who produce product that looks indistinguishable from the real thing. So ironically, if you find a pair of Ray-Bans "made in Italy", there's a good chance they were made in China.
You can buy Ray-Bans made in Japan if you shop their Titaniam Collection:
https://www.ray-ban.com/usa/titanium
These are classic styles like Aviator, Caravan and Round that use titanium. I believe they're made in Japan because Ray-Ban partnered with Fukui Megane Co, Ltd to create and produce these. They come at a higher price point, but you can't buy better frames than these.
