Clothes iron and steamer,Expert advice to choose ?

Post by asrar »

I have been looking into the best clothes irons recently because I want something that can handle everyday use without much hassle. I checked reviews on sites like Consumer Reports and the New York Times and these two seem to be the top picks

BLACK+DECKER Easy Steam Compact Iron, IR06V, Dual Position Cord.

https://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-IR06V-Steam-Iron/dp/B07FKRJTFZ?th=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=newyork-times-20&linkId=0f02f9eb723e3879e6af17e513ce131e&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl

Aluminum Soleplate, Steam or Dry Ironing, 7 Temperature Settings, Anti-Drip.

https://www.amazon.com/Aluminum-Soleplate-Temperature-Settings-Anti-Drip/dp/B001RJTQ8U?th=1&linkCode=ll1&tag=newyork-times-20&linkId=7fb023afcc82ad224e551bce8a0cabbf&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl

Right now I am not sure which one would suit me better so I could use some advice. I need an iron that delivers strong steam, works well on different fabrics, and doesn’t feel too heavy during long ironing sessions. A design that lasts and makes ironing quicker would also be a big plus for me.
Has anyone here used either of these Which one do you think is the smarter choice.

According to Black and Decker's customer service, these are made in "China and Indonesia".

One way to send a message is to buy it and look at the packaging. If it says, "Made in Indonesia", it's a keeper. If it says "Made in China", return it.

Please see this thread for irons that are definitely not made in China:

Thanks sir! 😊
To check a product, look at the packaging to see its country and brand. If it says "Made in Indonesia" or another country, it is good. If it says "Made in China" and you are concerned, returning it is the safe option. This way, you can easily know if the product is genuine and which company it’s from.
