There are a lot of "waterproof phone protectors" that are just plastic bags clamped together with a cheap plastic clamp, made with clear plastic that instantly becomes clouded and scratched the first time you use them. A great example of a product where you think you're getting a deal by buying them at $10, but realizing after a while that you've bought 10 of them and have been conned into treating them as "disposable".
The
SealLine E-Case Protective Case is one of the best waterproof protective cases, and it's made in the USA. It's actually been tested to the IPX7 standard (a claim that the cheap China-made ones make but which don't hold water...or should I say, which do hold water.
I'll keep looking for other examples (and feel free to add your finds), but if I had to choose one, this is the one I'd go with.
