Someone just posted this Blu-Ray drive (with a USB-C connection) on Reddit, but didn't leave a link. When I searched for it on Amazon using the EXACT naming on the package ("Stream USB 3.0 Blu-ray Drive), I could only find drives that were made in China.
Looking closer, I see that the real brand name is "Archgon". And yes, they are confirmed as made in Taiwan
on their Amazon listing.
Another Amazon user suggested
this Made in Japan model from Buffalo, a brand I've used in the past that has never failed me. Buffalo also has a nice selection of
portable SSD drives, all made in Japan.
